Austin City Limits Music Festival
Of course we weren't going to leave Austin City Limits Music Festival of this list. This is a six-day festival that runs from October 5th to 7th and then again from October 12th to 14th, 2018. It is one of the biggest music festivals in the nation and one of the best ways to connect with the Austin spirit in a fun and energetic setting.
Watch the sun set over the skyline from gorgeous Zilker Park as you enjoy memorable moments from a truly spectacular, high-profile, and diverse lineup of talented artists from around the world.
Contrary to popular belief, today's teens don't just care about their laptops and their phones. This festival is a wonderful way for local youth to meet a range of novelists and stock up on a range of great books. This fun and informative event also shows that Austin's great events are not limited to one age group — there is truly something for everyone.
The Texas Teen Book Festival takes place on October 16th at St. Edward's University, and is followed by the prestigious Texas Book Festival on October 27th & 28th at the Texas State Capitol Building. The latter will host plenty of literary icons, readings, panel discussions and interviews, as well as fantastic food.
Austin has a wonderful legacy of incredible jazz music. The art form is a critical part of the city's history, present, and future. This exceptional event on October 27th will feature a wealth of beautiful live music, local and visiting musicians, visual art exhibits, wine tastings, and much more.
We know there's a lot of music on this list, but fall in Austin is an amazing time to enjoy combinations of music, food, and drinks from around the globe and simply celebrate the amazing variety of cultural festivities in our home city. Austin Celtic Festival is one way to join in on the fun and to soak up the unique beauty of Irish, Scottish, and Breton music and dance.
