The Trail of Lights Foundation announced this week that the Trail of Lights will return for the 48th year!  This renowned Austin tradition is a roughly one-mile path of holiday lights through Zilker Park and has been going on since the 1960's.  According to the press release, admission will be free, but there will be options to pay a fee to take a less congested path through the spectacular display.  The Trail of Lights will feature food trailers, entertainment on two stages, a shopping/merchandise area, boxes for donations to local charities, opportunities to host private parties, and better traffic management, including the option of paying for parking in advance

If you are looking for a fun, indoor activity the last the entire family will enjoy, then go see the Ringling Bros. and Barum & Baley circus, which will be in town August 21st-25th at the Frank Erwin Center.  

The new dragon-themed show features a giant dragion replica that is brought to life through the combined actions of the performers, which represent different tribes of dragon worshippers. In addition to the usual circus fare, there will be focus on things like Shaolin and Kung Fu. Ringling promises the circus spectacles will be so incredible that you will believe the unbelievable.
